Resources and Support in Intercultural Learning for Faculty and Staff

The Center for Intercultural Learning, Mentorship, Assessment and Research (CILMAR) offers intercultural learning resources and support as professional development for faculty and staff, not only for the betterment of individuals, but also because faculty and staff have the opportunity to affect the lives of many students. CILMAR's experiential learning tools, assessments and research are all accessible through the Intercultural Learning Hub (HubICL). For intercultural learning in a classroom or mentorship setting, CILMAR also offers the following:

Learning

Intercultural Pedagogy Grant

Through IPG, faculty study abroad directors are offered a series of workshops on intercultural mentorship and assessment, resulting in discretionary funds for professional development for those who complete all the requirements of the grant program.

Worldview Workshops

Designed for academic advisors, front office staff, and other faculty and staff in public-facing positions, Worldview Workshops offer the opportunity to step back and ponder with others the role cultural difference plays in the daily work environment.

Mentorship

Growing Intercultural Leaders

With the goal of raising the bar on value-added transformative learning for the graduates of Purdue University, GIL provides three levels of incentivized support.

Purdue InterCultural Learning Community of Practice

The PICLCoP provides faculty and staff with the opportunity to come together to increase their own learning and to share what they have been doing in the intercultural learning field.

Assessment & Research

The Intercultural Learning Hub (HubICL) offers assessments and research on a wide variety of topics as they relate to intercultural learning.  For those who desire more personal support, CILMAR contacts include associate director of intercultural outcomes assessment Katherine Yngve and intercultural research specialist Dr. Lan Jin.
