Join GMP

Dear Engineering Graduate Student:

Are you interested in a program for graduate students who, like yourself, are motivated to achieve success personally, academically, and professionally? If so, join us in the Graduate Mentoring Program. This is a unique and exciting activity offered by the Women in Engineering Program (WIEP) at Purdue University.  It provides information and support to women in engineering throughout their graduate studies. You will find a mentoring environment for networking with other female engineering students as well as opportunities to interact with professional engineers and engineering faculty members.
The Graduate Mentoring Program Leadership Team has planned a fun and supportive program that will supplement your academic schedule with a wide variety of activities. Last year’s participants mentioned the following as what they gained from/liked about the program:
  • Learning new strategies to help with grad school/career and/or balancing life
  • Hearing about the experiences of a successful female engineer
  • Meeting new people
  • Enjoying a change from your daily routine
  • Affirmation & support from other female graduate students
  • Free yummy dinners!
  • Travel awards available!
Participants have the option to choose any combination of Monthly meetings/Small Groups/Graduate Women’s Gatherings (GWG) upon signing up for GMP. Monthly meetings are a great place to interact with other graduate students from different engineering disciplines over a free meal and lively presentation from a guest speaker. This year, we will be offering an exciting new program – GMP Small Groups consisting of participants from various engineering disciplines and organized by similar interests. You will have the option to sign up for them when you sign up for the program. In addition, you also have the option to participate in GWGs that exist within departments.
If you are interested in being a part of the Graduate Mentoring Program, please fill out the online form.
