Calling all Volunteers…

WBAA is grateful to have many loyal friends that volunteer their time during one of our fund drives. We are excited to announce that we are offering some different volunteer opportunities for this summer! If you take note of the events calendar, WBAA plans to have lots of interaction at community events this summer and fall.

If you are a listener that enjoys talking to other people about the station, please consider signing up for a 2 hour shift to volunteer in the WBAA information booth at one of the community events listed. This is a fun way to help provide your time as a volunteer while enjoying the involvement in these cherished community events.

Why volunteer you may ask? According to Susan Ellis, author of the book “Focus on Volunteering/Why People Volunteer,” there are many reasons that people choose to give their time to organizations. Some ideas that you might identify with are: to feel proud, to help someone, to make new friends, to learn something new, to assure progress, or gain status. These are merely a few reasons that volunteers responded when questioned as to what motivates them to volunteer.

Volunteers are very important to WBAA and our mission to engage, enrich, and educate our community. If you would like to donate your time or resources, please contact Denise Zinselmeier at 496-3942 or email membership@wbaa.org .
