World Cafe: Declaration of Independents
Celebrate your independence this 4th of July with World Cafe's "Declaration of Independents" special on 920 WBAA-AM from 7 - 9 pm. The program special features two hours of great music from a variety of independent American artists -- all recorded live in the World Cafe studios. Performing artists include Sea Wolf, Carbon Silicon, She & Him, Aimee Mann, Langhorne Slim, What Made Milwaukee Famous, Dengue Fever, Basia Bulat, Ezra Furman and the Harpoons, New Pornographers, Vampire Weekend, The Weakerthans, Stars, and many more. "Declaration of Independents" also features a special "Top 5" from Jonathan Poneman, one of the founders of the Sub Pop record label, who spins his personal musical highlights from the twenty-year-old indie label. David Dye hosts.

"An Armed Forces Salute"
On Sunday, July 6th at 3 pm, 101.3 WBAA-FM and Jan Simon will present "An Armed Forces Salute" performed by the Lafayette Symphony Orchestra. The program will include two works for piano and orchestra by William Grant Still, music from the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical "South Pacific," George Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue" and a number of patriotic selection. Former WBAA host Greg Kostraba will be featured on the piano.
