WBAA Town Forum on HIV/AIDS

"Dealing with AIDS/HIV" was the topic of the WBAA Town Forum held on Monday, April 17th, at 7 pm at the Purdue Memorial Union. The event was part of the Purdue Student Union Board's AIDS Awareness week.

The panelists included:

Purdue Professor Jim Anderson: Professor of Medical Sociology and Health and Communication. He is also co-director of the Rural Center for AIDS-STD prevention.

Eric Garrison - Has spent years as an HIV pre and post test counselor. He's one of the key speakers the Purdue Student Union Board is bringing in for the week.

WBAA Town Forum on Under Age Drinking

The forum was broadcast live from the Tippecanoe County Public Library Wednesday, April 5th at 7 pm.

The forum was presented in conjunction with The Coalition for a Safe and Drug Free Tippecanoe County.

Panelists included Major Tracy Brown from the Tippecanoe County Sheriff's Department; Kipp Scott from Tippecanoe County Probation; and Purdue assistant professor in psychological sciences, Dr. Julia Chester.

WBAA Town Forum on the War in Iraq

Four Purdue University professors spoke about the causes and consequences of the war in Iraq in a WBAA Town Forum that was broadcast from 7-9 p.m. on Jan. 19 in Stewart Center, Room 206.

The forum featured Janet Afary, associate professor of history and women's studies and an expert in the Middle East; George Horwich, professor emeritus of economics and an expert in international economics; Keith Shimko, associate professor of political science and an expert in foreign policy; and Harry Targ, professor of political science and American Studies and an expert in international relations.
