CHRISTMAS IN MOZART'S MUSICAL CITIES
11/26/04 - 12/03/04

Thirteen People traveled on WBAA's trip to Salzburg, Vienna, Linz and Prague.
Here are a few photo memories of the adventure.

We arrived in Munich, Germany then traveled to Salzburg, Austria

With some free time to spend, some of us went to the Christmas Market in the Old Town Square.

In the evening we gathered for dinner at the centuries old St. Peter's Restuarant.

We took a walking tour of the Old Town, including the Cathedral, Mozart's birthplace and Mirabell Gardens.

Monday: 11/29/04
Linz
We left Salzburg and traveled along the banks of the Danube to the Imperial city of Linz. We took a tour of Old Town and the baroque Linz Main Square and St. Martin's Church.

We traveled to Vienna in the evening and following dinner, went to a concert of works by Mozart and Strauss in the Orangery at the Schoenbrunn Palace.

Vienna

Today we took a tour of Vienna that featured the baroque marvels of Schoenbrunn Palace. Touring Vienna's city center, we saw St. Stephan's Cathedral, beautiful baroque architecture, parks, and gothic spires of a bygone age.

The evening concluded with a bus ride to Grinzing for dinner at Altes Prebhaus.

Vienna & Prague

We traveled through the picturesque countryside to the border of the Czech Republic before proceeding to the capital city of Prague, situated on the River Vltava. Known as "The Golden City", Prague offers visitors a mixture of Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque architecture. The city boasts more than 500 towers and steeples, as well as many parks and gardens.

Thursday: 12/02/04
Prague

Today we took a walking tour of the 1,000-year-old Hradcany Castle, the former Royal Palace, the imposing St. Vitus Cathedral and the colorful Golden Lane. We then walked over the 14th-century Charles Bridge with its 16 arches and 30 statues into the Old Town Square. The square is enclosed by Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque and Rococo-style buildings including the Tyn Church and its magnificent towers. Other sites included the unique Astronomical Clock, St. Nicholas Cathedral and Old Town Hall. We also visited the Old Jewish Quarter with its synagogues, museums, and cemetery.

Prague - Depart for Home

This morning we boarded the bus for transfer to the airport for our flight home.
