WBAA's Bus Trip to the
Garrison Keillor Rhubarb Tour
Garrison Keillor, host of the popular program, A Prairie Home Companion, will be live at the 2008 State Fair as part of the Rhubarb Tour.
WBAA has reserved a motor coach bus that will transport guests down to the fairgrounds. This event will take place on Wednesday, August 13th at 7:30 pm at the Marsh Grandstand at the Indiana State Fairgrounds in Indianapolis.
Cost is $50/person and includes round trip bus ride, light refreshments, a WBAA water bottle, State Fair entrance and admission to the show. Space is limited and tickets will be sold on a first come, first serve basis.

Global Fest
August 30
Mark your calendar for one of this year's most enjoyable festivals! The 13th Annual Global Fest, held at Morton Community Center (222 North Chauncey Street), will be held Labor Day weekend. It's an admission-free celebration of our diversity and world cultures through music, dance, crafts, displays, demonstrations and international food. Continuous stage entertainment, cultural displays and children's activities, including the international petting zoo, are among the free activities.
Lay Flats Art Fest

The Lay Flats Arts and Music Festival (known locally as LayFlats) is an annual outdoor music and arts festival held at the Tippecanoe Outdoor Ampitheatre in West Lafayette, Indiana.
The Midwest music event features several genres of music including garage rock, alternative rock, country, bluegrass, folk, hip hop, and electronica set across three stages and tents. The fine arts element of the outdoor event includes artwork, mixed media, paintings, sculpture, photography, blown glass, hand made jewelry and more. Interactive workshops and art installations for children and adults include creative writing, traditional musical instruments, as well as the construction of the main stage backdrop during the day. |
Art on the Wabash

A one-day local juried artists fair. Artists from a regional 14-county area offer pottery, glass, paintings, carvings, jewelry and more. Tapawingo Park along the Wabash River.
Feast of the Hunters Moon
September 27 - 28
The Feast of the Hunters' Moon is a re-creation of the annual fall gathering of the French and Native Americans which took place Fort Ouiatenon, a fur-trading outpost in the mid - 1700s. It is held annually in early autumn on the banks of the Wabash River, four miles southwest of West Lafayette, Indiana.
Thousands of participants re-enact this event creating a feast for your senses. Smell the wood smoke, hear the report of the rifles, savor authentic food and more. |
