myStrengths for Faculty and Staff

myStrengths helps students identify their talents, develop those talents into strengths, and apply their strengths in experiences that will help them be successful. All incoming undergraduate students since fall 2016 are able to take the CliftonStrengths talent assessment at no cost.

Grounded in psychological theory, literature, and research, a strengths approach starts with an individual’s positive characteristics and helps them to develop to their full potential in areas including academics, career, leadership, and relationships. Students who understand their strengths will be able to maximize their educational experience.

By integrating myStrengths into your work with students, you can contribute to their success by:

  • Creating a common language across campus that contributes to a sense of community;
  • Increasing students’ self-awareness and their understanding and appreciation of others;
  • Developing students to their full potential in areas including academics, career, leadership, and relationships;
  • Increasing students’ overall confidence, engagement and sense of responsibility in pursuing their academic and career goals; and
  • Improving student retention, graduation, and satisfaction.
