EDPS 30000: Foundations of Leadership (3 Credits)

The Foundations of Leadership course gives individuals an overview of traditional paradigms of leadership and focuses on emergent paradigms of leadership. Individuals develop their own leadership identity through inventories, interactive classes, and reflection.

HONR 299, CRN 19778 - Study Away: The Radical South (1 Credit)

This four day Fall break course to Alabama will be an intense and radicalizing foray into the long history of resistance that the South has mounted against the forces and institutions of slavery, Jim Crow and the New Jim Crow. We will visit the cities of Montgomery, Selma, and Birmingham as we revisit the key moments and people who launched and sustained the Civil Rights Movement. We will focus on the creative, compelling, and collaborative ways in which communities in Alabama have decided to tell their stories. 

EDPS 30000: Leadership for Social Change (1, 2, or 3 Credits)

The Leadership for Social Change Learning Community focuses on leadership that positively impacts the world. This learning community is for individuals interested in developing their leadership capacity in order to lead within student organizations on campus and beyond.

ILS 495: Citizen's Academy 

Citizen's Academy is a unique, 8-week course, comprised of 10 community members, 10 students, and three facilitators. The course will focus on increasing capacity to be civic agents. Participants will analyze how actions they may take can impact societal issues. As part of the course, participants will meet with local leaders, visit important local sites, and engage with local issues. This course will utilize critical reflection and strengths-based assessment.
