Dr. Exum and Divisional Directors Give Their Bi-annual Reports
In a meeting at the Purdue Memorial Union North Ballroom on January 6, Divisional Directors reported to the faculty and staff of each division of Student Affairs. A few of the highlights included the incorporation of University Residences into Student Affairs, the Center for Student Excellence and Leadership (CSEL) will be breaking ground soon, the new Recreational Sports facility, the largest in the Big Ten Conference, will be 60% complete in August for a soft opening and fully complete by October, the Center for Career Opportunities (CCO) will expand into Young Hall by next spring, the Office of the Dean of Students has filled many positions and will escort HORIZONS students to Cape Town, South Africa later this year, Purdue Student Health Center (PUSH) has added many new staff members to support Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) and has begun screening every student for high-risk drinking in order to improve students' well-being. There were many other updates, professional development grants were awareded and Dr. Exum gave away a door prize.
The Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs strives to be student-focused and there was plenty of evidence of that to support this mission. Enjoy the slide show and have a great, productive 2012. Don't forget to add next semester's division meeting, which will take place on August 3, 2012.
