MyPurdue Emergency Contact Update Incentive Winners
The Purdue Parents' Fund provided four Apple iPads as an incentive for Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors to update their emergency contact information on the myPurdue student portal. As a result of this incentive, over 6,000 students updated their contact information which was 26% of the targeted population, according to Annette Lamb, Director of Development for Student Affairs.
The four winners chosen at random to receive an iPad 2 were Jill Grable, Kushal Patel, Adam Shepp and Lauren Tomlinson. Lamb said, "we honestly could not have randomly chosen four better students." One of the students currently works on developing iPad applications and is excited to use his skills on his own iPad. Another student is a flight instructor and is looking forward to creating flight logs with it.
A breakdown of the winning students captured a perfect slice of Purdue with 2 seniors, 1 junior and 1 sophomore of which 2 were males, 2 were females, 2 from Indiana and 2 out of state. A "pretty good random pull," said Lamb.
This contest was a success by all measures and provided the University with valuable emergency contact information. Annette Lamb wishes to thank the Parents and Families of Purdue for their support with this effort. If your student still needs to update his or her emergency contact information, direct them to myPurdue.
