Alumni & Area Sightseers

The Purdue community prides itself in its roots of “practical” red brick buildings and high academic rigor. Yet its architecture and culture also reflect a ‘think big’ mentality and an aspiration to discovery.

Experience Purdue with a guided tour or on your own.

Guided Tour

The Purdue Visitor Information Center provides campus walking tours for small groups (less than 10) at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. weekdays and at 10:00 a.m. on Saturdays when the semester is in session. Led by Purdue student ambassadors, the walking tours typically last an hour and cover the central region of campus.

Stop by the Visitors Center, located in the Northwestern Street Parking Garage - 504 Northwestern Avenue, at the designated times to tour the Purdue campus. You may also visit the online tour request form to sign up for an available tour date.

On Your Own

Self-Guided Tours

A self-guided tour booklet and a brochure are available at the Visitor Center located in the Northwestern Street Parking Garage and in the Purdue Memorial Union (main floor). These publications also can be viewed online, downloaded, and printed.

Dauch Alumni Center

A visit to Spurgeon Hall of Spirit in the Dauch Alumni Center provides interactive kiosks and exhibits showcasing Purdue's history and alumni achievements. The center is open Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and during home football games from 8:00 a.m. to kick-off time. More info.

Galleries

View some of Purdue’s own collections as well as traveling exhibits within two art galleries – the Robert L. Ringel Gallery in the Purdue Memorial Union and the Stewart Center Gallery in Stewart Center. Visit the Galleries website for current hours and exhibits.

Cultural Centers

Three cultural centers – Black, Latino, and Native American – foster a culturally diverse and intellectually inclusive campus environment while serving as a “second home” for students and a resource for educational materials, music, and art.
