Why did you choose Purdue? Purdue was an easy decision for me because I knew I wanted to stay in-state and get a world class education. Also, all my friends were going to IU and I wanted to break away and be different. My brother graduated from Purdue and I have been to West Lafayette quite a few times and I knew it would be a good fit. |
| What is a typical day like for you? A typical day for me means I'm waking up at 8:30, going to class, going to work, interning, texting and doing a lot of studying. |
|
What was your favorite class? My favorite class so far is Introduction to African American Studies. I really like this class because it explores the growth and struggles of African Americans. This is important to me because you cannot know where you are going unless you know where you have been. |
|
What are your career goals? Currently my career goals are to find a job in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Community Relations, or Journalism. I would like to stay in the Indianapolis area, but moving to someplace warm wouldn't be bad either. Also, I would like to own my own Public Relations firm by the time I am 40. |
|
What was your favorite course within your major?
My favorite course within my major is Rhetoric in the Western World. I really like this class because we are studying the philosophies of Socrates in relation to the communicative methods of Jesus.

Describe your most memorable experience at Purdue?
My most memorable experience was the Ohio State game last year. I loved the atmosphere and the school spirit. We definitely didn't win but I had a great time anyway. |
|
What is a unique experience that you have had as a tour guide? One unique experience I've had as a tour guide was when my picture was featured in a publication that is handed out to thousands of people. This isn't really a big deal when you know it is in there, but when you are with one hundred 8th graders and they realize it before you do and point it out and make a big deal about it, it becomes really cool. |
| Where is your favorite spot on campus? My favorite spot on campus is the basement of Hicks Undergraduate Library. It is the absolute best place to study because most times it is really quiet and you cannot get a cell phone signal, so no one can disturb you. |
| What would you tell prospective students about Purdue? I would tell them Purdue is an excellent school full of opportunities. They should take advantage of everything, join a lot of organizations, meet people from various backgrounds, go to EVERY class, and enjoy college life. Purdue is a great place to find yourself and the faculty and staff are very supportive and are there to help. |
|
How has your Purdue experience been so far? My experience at Purdue has been life changing. I have learned so much about myself and about life as a whole. Each year was a challenge in its own way, and I have learned, adapted and overcome. In May, I will be ever so proud to say that I am an Alumnus of Purdue University. |
