National Guard Supplemental Grant

The Indiana National Guard Supplemental Grant (NGSG) guarantees up to 100 percent of certain tuition costs will be met by the State of Indiana for eligible members of the Indiana Air and Army National Guard. The NGSG covers only certain tuition charges and does not cover other expenses such as room and board or textbooks. It is subject to available funds. Individuals may work with their unit's education office to complete all the required Indiana National Guard (ING) paperwork. You must have all the paperwork approved by the appropriate ING education office before the start of classes. 

National Guard Extension Scholarship

The National Guard Extension Scholarship is a limited scholarship available to former Guard members who left the Guard under honorable discharge conditions, used the NGSG in the past, and who served on active duty overseas since Sept. 10, 2001. Child of a Disabled Veteran

The biological or legally adopted children of disabled Indiana veterans might be eligible to receive the resident tuition rate at an Indiana state-supported college or university. Applications must go through the Indiana Department of Veterans Affairs.

Purple Heart Recipient

A person who entered active duty from a permanent home address in Indiana, received the Purple Heart Medal and received an honorable discharge might be eligible to have the resident tuition rate at an Indiana state supported college or university funded. Applications must go through the Indiana Department of Veterans Affairs

How do I receive these benefits?

  1. You must have filed a completed FAFSA by March 10 prior to the year you wish to attend college.
  2. You can view your eligibility on the State Financial Aid website by logging into eStudent at www.in.gov/che.  
  3. When your benefit is approved, please communicate with Purdue University’s Division of Financial Aid
