Military Absence Policy

Those serving in the National Guard or reserves are often required to attend military training that might conflict with their ability to attend classes. The Military Absence Policy provides a formal process to request an absence of up to 15 days per academic year. Prior to attending your training, individuals affected by this policy must:

  • Provide a copy of your orders or letter from our unit to the Office of the Dean of Students
  • Make prior arrangements with all of your professors and instructors to determine how you can earn equivalent credit
  • Demonstrate evidence of meeting the learning outcomes for missed assignments or assessments

It is your responsibility to inform your instructors at the beginning of the semester of the potential for mandatory military training conflicts.
