Welcome to STAR 2011

June 20 - July 14, 2011

NOTE: The information on this page and pages linked to it is for the STAR 2011 program.  Updated information about STAR 2012 will be made available in Spring of 2012.

STAR (Summer Transition, Advising, and Registration) is Purdue's required orientation program for new, domestic, first-year and transfer students. During STAR you spend a full day (from 7:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.) attending orientation sessions, meeting your academic advisor, registering for fall semester classes, and getting ready to begin your academic career at Purdue in August.

In addition, you will have the opportunity to visit your assigned residence hall, take placement and advanced credit exams, visit bookstores, and get financial aid information. Parents and other family members are welcome to join you!

International Students: Please click on this link for information you'll need to complete your STAR requirements.

Domestic Students:

Students must register themselves for STAR online using the myPurdue portal. If you have questions about how to register for STAR, contact the SATS (Student Access, Transition and Success) Programs office at (765) 494-9328. If you are unable to attend STAR for any reason you should also contact the SATS office.

The following links will refer you to information concerning STAR.

Indiana weather is notorious for its changeability.  We recommend checking the National Weather Service forecast for West Lafayette before you come to Purdue.

Purdue Time -- Remember that West Lafayette, IN is on Eastern Time - the same time as New York, and one hour ahead of Chicago.
