Career
Information
“What do you want to be when
you grow up?” This question is generally a fun one to
answer as a child. For many college students, however, not
knowing what you want to be (now that you’re supposedly
‘grown up’) is no fun at all. It can be downright
depressing.
Fear not! College
is about more than preparing you for one specific career —
it’s about becoming a lifelong learner. And with constant
changes in technology and the world of work it’s very
possible the career you’ll end up in hasn’t even
been invented yet. Enjoy your freedom and the almost unlimited
possibilities before you.
Here
are some suggested sources of career information:
Want information about salaries that graduates in different majors earn right out of college? Purdue’s Center for Career Opportunities (CCO) contacts graduates to find out, and the most recent survey results are available.
Need more guidance in this process? The University of
Waterloo Career Services office has developed their Career
Development e-Manual to help you through a step-by-step
