The process of "CODOing" from one college/school to another involves completing required paperwork and visiting the advising office in both your "old" college/school and your "new" one to get official signatures. Here is a step-by-step sequence to follow:

  1. Contact the college/school you wish to CODO into for specific information about their requirements.  College/school contact information and CODO requirements may be found by clicking on the Minimum Requirements link on the left.
  2. Request CODO papers at the Office of the Registrar (Hovde Hall, room 45 or the kiosk outside room 45).  You will receive 2 copies of the forms.
  3. Print your name and PUID number at the top and complete Item 1 (college/school and major information) on both copies of the CODO papers.
  4. Bring both copies of the CODO papers to your current school/college or advisor for their signature (Item 2).          USP Students: Schedule an appointment with your advisor to complete this step.
  5. Take both copies of your CODO papers to your NEW college/school's advising office or CODO meeting (if one is required).
    • Your academic record will be reviewed and, if you meet the CODO requirements, an advisor will complete Items 3, 4, and 5 on your CODO papers.
  6. Sign your name at the bottom of both copies (item 6) to indicate your approval of the CODO process and your understanding of how your credits will be used to satisy degree requirements.
  7. One copy of your CODO papers will be forwarded to the Office of the Registrar for computer entry showing your Change Of Degree Objective.
  8. After your CODO papers have been processed by the Office of the Registrar, you are officially in your new college/school beginning with the term indicated in Item 3 on your CODO papers.

Please note the following:

  • CODO papers are only valid during the semester in which they were requested
  • CODOing cannot save a student from being placed on DROP status.
