Purdue names Rollock vice president for ethics and compliance

In her current role as vice president for human relations, Rollock serves as the university's equal opportunity and Title IX officer with responsibility for developing and implementing universitywide equal opportunity, equal access and affirmative action policies. Her office also provides oversight of the Affirmative Action Office, the Diversity Resource Office and the Women's Resource Office.

Rollock's office will continue its oversight of the Affirmative Action Office, Title IX, and equal access and equal opportunity. In addition, Rollock will assume responsibility for compliance and ethics training; compliance standards and procedures; and development and revision of university policies. She will direct the university's systemwide ethics and compliance programs applicable to the four campuses, Statewide Technology, the Office of the President, and all university programs and activities.

The vice president for ethics and compliance reports directly to the president, who described Rollock as vigilant and passionate.

"Ethical conduct is an essential underpinning of a great university, and adherence to compliance standards is essential to accountability," said Purdue President France A. Córdova. "Alysa's legal background, service on the Indiana State Ethics Commission, and oversight of Purdue's compliance in equal access and equal opportunity make her uniquely qualified to help us reach our twin goals for integrity and accountability in fulfilling our mission."

Rollock received her undergraduate degree from Princeton University in 1981 and her law degree from Yale University School of Law in 1984. Following her graduation from Yale, she worked as an associate with the New York City law firms of Cahill Gordon and Reindell & Battle Fowler. In 1988 she joined the Indianapolis law firm of Ice Miller.

In 1992 Rollock was appointed associate professor of law at Indiana University-Bloomington, where her research and teaching were concentrated in the areas of professional responsibility, corporate law, corporate finance and securities regulation. In July 1998 Rollock joined Purdue as interim vice president for human relations and an associate professor of management. She became vice president for human relations in July 1999.

Rollock is a member of the board of directors of the Lafayette-West Lafayette Development Corporation and the Community Foundation of Greater Lafayette. She served as a member of the Indiana State Ethics Commission from 1996-2003 by appointment of governors Evan Bayh and the late Frank O'Bannon.
