Day in College set for Nov. 14 at College of Technology at Columbus

COLUMBUS, Ind. - Purdue's College of Technology at Columbus will give high school seniors a chance to experience college life during its third annual Day in College event Nov. 14.

The event will be 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Columbus Learning Center.

Students are selected to attend the event by a guidance counselor or a teacher from their high school. The deadline for nominations is Nov. 7.

Participants will experience a typical day in college by attending short college classes, and they and their parents will have an opportunity to meet with professors and members of the student services staff. Lunch will be provided for students, parents and guardians. 

New this year is a special program for parents and guardians, who will be able to learn more about the admissions and financial aid process and about the variety of career opportunities available to graduates of the College of Technology at Columbus.

All Day in College participants who go on to enroll in the College of Technology at Columbus location are eligible to apply for a scholarship. This fall, Purdue awarded $3,500 to six participants of the November 2007 Day in College.
