Purdue's Grand Alternative to offer substance-free events

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue University students will have a wide variety of substance-free events to choose from during this year's Grand Prix celebration.

Grand Alternative 2007 is sponsored by the Office of the Dean of Students, with support from the Wesley Foundation, Student Wellness Office and Division of Recreational Sports, along with a grant from the Coalition for a Safe and Drug-Free Tippecanoe County. The events will take place through April 22. The 50th annual Grand Prix kart race is scheduled for April 21.

All Grand Alternative events are free unless otherwise noted. The following list includes activities and sponsors:

* Friday, April 13:

-- Baseball, Purdue vs. Indiana, 4 p.m., Lambert Field, $2.
