Scientific American: Supercomputing can save U.S. manufacturing; Purdue, Plainfield firm show how it's done

Jeco Plastic Products in Plainfield tapped expertise at Purdue University to develop simulations of a pallet designed for a German automotive company and ran them on a supercomputer. As a result, Jeco bypassed that trial-and-error process completely, arriving at a design in only a few hours of computer time. Read more ...
