Also designed a compliant finger for possible applications in surgery, prosthetic devices and toys and had a part in inventing a video game controller for use with exercise equipment. Was a Fulbright Scholar, lecturing and researching at the University of Art and Design Helsinki in 1996-97. Teaches the realities of the professional environment by requiring design students to work on interdisciplinary projects with mechanical engineering students. Designed the Boilermaker Special V, Purdue's mascot.
