Police investigate Tower Drive assault

West Lafayette, Ind. — Purdue University police are investigating an attack that occurred at 11:30 p.m. Friday (Jan. 12) on Tower Drive near Cary Quadrangle.

A male Purdue student told police he was walking from Owen Hall when three white males knocked him down and then one struck his head with what felt like a brick, Purdue police Lt. Michael Boesch said. The student said he struck back at the assailants, who fled.

Based on the victim's description, police are preparing a composite drawing. The student reported that one of the men had a large build, stood 6 feet 3 inches to 6 feet 6 inches and had very short hair. The second, about 6 feet tall, wore a St. Louis Cardinals baseball cap and a hooded sweatshirt.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Purdue police at (765) 494-8221.
