Purdue Student Union Board to celebrate Asian culture

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — A group of Purdue University student organizations will offer a look into the culture of Asia during an event at 7 p.m. Thursday (Nov. 16).

Asian Passport will take place in the Purdue Memorial Union's West Faculty Lounge and is free and open to the public. Purdue Student Union Board is sponsoring the event as part of its Passport series, which is organized by the group's Cultural Events Committee.

"The Asian Passport night will be both educational and fun," said Christina Schowe, Purdue Student Union Board's director of cultural events. "It will be a way for Purdue students and the community to get to see into a different world for a night and experience a new culture."

Other student organizations will have booths set up and films about Asia will be shown, Schowe said.

The next event in Purdue Student Union Board's Passport series is Holidays Around the World on Dec. 6.
