Preparing to make a splash
Purdue swimmer Carlene Takaki, a senior in the College of Liberal Arts from San Jose, Calif., is set to compete in the upcoming U.S. Open at Boilermaker Aquatic Center Nov. 30 to Dec. 2. Takaki, who is the 2006 Big Ten champion in the women's 200-yard butterfly and has qualified for the 2008 Olympic Trials in the 100- and 200-meter butterfly, will compete against some of the nation's top swimmers during the event. All-session passes are now on sale for $25 for adults and $15 for students and children by calling the Purdue Athletic Ticket Office at (765) 494-3194 or (800) 497-7678. Individual session tickets will be available at the Boilermaker Aquatic Center on the day of the event. Tickets for preliminaries are $4 for adults and $3 for students and children.
