Purdue Student Government to hold legislative forum

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Members of Purdue Student Government will hold a legislative forum at 10 a.m. Thursday (Nov. 2) in Purdue Memorial Union, Room 118.

The event will feature political candidates including:

• Indiana House District 26 incumbent Rep. Joe Micon, Democrat, and challenger Connie Basham, Republican.

• Indiana House District 27 incumbent Rep. Sheila Klinker, Democrat.

• Indiana Senate District 22 challenger Dave Vorbeck, Democrat.

Purdue Student Government representative Katie Thomas, a junior in the College of Liberal Arts from Martinsville, Ind., will moderate the event. Thomas said the candidates will be asked questions that pertain to Purdue and its students, such as funding higher education and alcohol awareness issues.

The event is open to Purdue students, staff, faculty and the general public.
