Wadsworth County Staff awards on Tuesday (Oct. 17) during Purdue Extension's annual conference banquet. The IEEA Diversity Award went to Tri-State Diversity Conference members Norma Butler, Barbara Bowman, Peg Ehlers, Nick Held, Dotty Keeton and Mary Alice Sharp. They collaborated with Extension professionals from Kentucky and Ohio to organize the conference pertaining to the cultural importance of food. Presenters provided seminars in 22 areas relating to cultural practices and policies relating to food and offered four off-site tours. The Diversity Award is given to educators who go beyond requirements to achieve organizational change to support diversity and pluralism in relevant programs. Pulaski County Staff members Melissa Culp, Chris DePoy, Michael Reetz and April Uncapher received the H.A. Wadsworth County Staff Award for their involvement with the Pulaski County Learning Network. This program has responded to a need for adult education in the county and has offered credit classes for the educational outreach programs. Nearly 3,000 residents have participated in courses offered at community colleges and the Pulaski Alliance for Community Education. The H.A.
