Purdue's WorkLife Programs cancels Oct. 13 flu shot clinic

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The free flu shot clinic scheduled for Friday (Oct. 13) at the Purdue Technology Center in Purdue's Research Park has been canceled due to a delay in the manufacturer's release of the vaccine.

Friday's cancellation does not mean there is a shortage of flu vaccine this year, said Julie Huetteman, a wellness specialist with WorkLife Programs.

"We aren't guaranteed to get the vaccine by Friday, so we're canceling this date," she said, "but we do expect to receive more vaccine."

Benefit-eligible faculty, staff, graduate staff, official Purdue retirees and their spouses or same-sex domestic partners are eligible for free flu shots.

The next scheduled date for free flu shots, based on receipt of vaccine, is 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Oct. 26 at Stewart Center, Room 214. Stewart Center is located off Grant Street next to Purdue Memorial Union.
