Purdue celebrating Homecoming with building dedications, announcements
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. Purdue University will dedicate three new buildings, announce major gifts and surprise a research legend in a series of events through Sept. 23 leading up to Homecoming.
Journalists are invited to all events, and several would make good advance stories as well. The Purdue News Service will issue news releases in advance of each event. Video b-roll, audio and photos are available before and after events, as indicated below. Also, a complete package of advance video for all events is available upon request. Friday, Sept. 22. 8 p.m. Boilermaker Night Train Parade will begin on Russell Street, head south, turn west on State Street, turn north on MacArthur Drive, turn east on Third Street, head north to Intramural Drive, then end after turning west on Stadium Avenue. Purdue President Martin C. Jischke is grand marshal. Fireworks will follow.

Saturday, Sept. 23. 9-11 a.m. Homecoming on the Purdue Mall will feature family-friendly activities, food and live entertainment.
