MEDIA ADVISORYTo: JournalistsFrom: Purdue News Service Date: August 29, 2006 Subject: Women Pioneers of Purdue University Journalists are invited on Wednesday (Aug. 30) to cover the inaugural Women Pioneers of Purdue University event at Westwood, the home of Purdue President Martin C. Jischke and his wife, Patty. Fifteen pioneers will be honored, 10 deceased and five living, who are Mary Ellen Bock, head of the Department of Statistics; Martha Chiscon, professor emeritus of biological sciences and former associate dean of the College of Science; Jane Daniels, former director of the Purdue University Women in Engineering Program; Virginia Ferris, professor of entomology; and Leah Jamieson, John A. Edwardson Dean of Engineering.
