June 12, 2006Upcoming Convocations performance canceledWEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. The Ennio Morricone Experience, an Australian group, has canceled its United States tour that included a stop at Purdue University. The band, scheduled to perform Jan. 12 at Long Center, was part of Purdue Convocations' 2006-2007 Center Stage series. "It's always a disappointment when we have a cancellation, but in this case, I'm personally sad to know we won't have the opportunity to share this hilarious show with our audience," said Todd Wetzel, Convocations director. The program featured music from such films as "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly" and represented the type of performance seen at fringe festivals. Two other performances from that genre, "Thwak" and "Teatro Delusio," are still on the Convocations schedule. Patrons who have ordered tickets for the Center Stage series or single tickets for the performance will receive a refund check for this performance or will not have their credit card charged, Wetzel said. If other tickets were ordered, the refund will be included with those tickets. For information, contact the Purdue Convocations office at (765) 494-9712.
