Appointments and promotions

— Tim Bobillo has been hired as director of development for the Purdue Cancer Center. He served for five years at director of development for Purdue's School of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and for the last two years he has been president of the Lafayette Catholic School System.

Faculty and staff honors

— Hong Wei, adviser of the Chinese Students and Scholars Organization, was named Outstanding Adviser of the Year at a Student Activities and Organizations luncheon recently.

Student honors

— Eight students were given Emerging Leader Awards at the annual Student Activities and Organization awards luncheon recently. The winners were Aleksandra Damsz, a freshman in the School of Management from West Lafayette, Ind.; Hadleigh Stevens, a sophomore in the School of Nursing from Waldron, Ind.; Garet Turner, a sophomore in the College of Liberal Arts from Sunrise, Fla.; Barbara Turk, a sophomore in School of Materials Science Engineering from Elyria, Ohio; Julio Morera, a freshman in the College of Engineering from Newburgh, Ind.; Tom Seto, a freshman in the School of Pharmacy from Evansville, Ind.; Benjamin Deschner, a freshman in the School of Health Sciences from Fort Wayne, Ind.; and Andrew Branum, a sophomore in the College of Liberal Arts from Goshen, Ind.
