May 3, 2006 Purdue graduates to take part in commencement ceremoniesWEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. Purdue University will award degrees at five campuses and seven College of Technology locations throughout Indiana during commencement ceremonies this month. Commencement at the West Lafayette campus is scheduled for May 12-14 at Elliott Hall of Music. An estimated 5,648 degrees will be presented in four ceremonies that weekend, including 4,343 undergraduate degrees, 213 professional degrees, 859 master's degrees and 348 doctoral degrees. University President Martin C. Jischke will address graduates at each ceremony. The ceremonies will feature two large video screens above the Elliott Hall stage that will display a close-up image of each graduate receiving his or her diploma. The commencement ceremonies for the West Lafayette campus are: May 12, 8 p.m., School of Management and College of Technology (West Lafayette and Indianapolis campuses only). A class response will be provided by Kurt Luther of Pittsburgh, a graduate of the College of Technology. May 13, 9:30 a.m., College of Engineering and School of Veterinary Medicine. A class response will be provided by Sara Lynn Connolly of Hammond, Ind., a graduate of the School of Veterinary Medicine. May 13, 2:30 p.m., colleges of Agriculture; Consumer and Family Sciences; Education; and Pharmacy, Nursing and Health Sciences. A class response will be provided by Todd Alan Walroth of Lowell, Ind., a graduate of the College of Pharmacy, Nursing and Health Sciences. May 14, 9:30 a.m., colleges of Liberal Arts and Science. A class response will be provided by Harold W. Drozdowski Jr. of Warren, Mich., a graduate of the College of Liberal Arts. Commencement videos for each school will be available. A DVD costs $30 and order forms are available at Stewart Center's Loeb Playhouse box office or by calling (765) 494-3933. Order forms can be submitted both before and after each commencement ceremony. Once seating capacity in Elliott Hall of Music has been met, additional seating will be available in Loeb Playhouse, where there will be a live feed broadcast of the ceremony. Commencement times and locations at other Purdue campuses are: Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne: 7 p.m. May 10 at the Memorial Coliseum and Exposition Center, where 394 degrees Purdue degrees will be conferred. Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis: 3 p.m. May 14 at the Indiana Convention Center and RCA Dome, where 967 Purdue degrees will be conferred to graduates from the Indianapolis and Columbus campuses. Purdue Calumet: 1:30 p.m. May 21 at the Star Plaza Theatre in Merrillville, where 584 Purdue degrees will be conferred. Purdue North Central: 7:30 p.m. May 9 at the Chapel of the Resurrection at Valparaiso University, where 310 degrees will be conferred. College of Technology commencements at locations around the state include: Anderson/Muncie: 2 p.m. May 13 at the Flagship Enterprise Center, where 21 degrees will be conferred. Columbus/Southeast Indiana: 7 p.m. May 14 at Columbus North High School, where 31 degrees will be conferred. Kokomo: 6 p.m. May 10 at Kresge Auditorium, where 47 degrees will be conferred. Lafayette: 2 p.m. May 6 at the Subaru of Indiana Automotive Inc. Training and Reception Center, where 35 degrees will be conferred. New Albany: 6:30 p.m. May 9 at University Center Hoosier Room on the Indiana University Southeast campus, where 32 degrees will be conferred. Richmond: 6 p.m. May 12 at Richmond High School, where 31 degrees will be conferred. South Bend/Elkhart: 6:30 p.m. May 8 at the Indiana University South Bend Auditorium, where 31 degrees will be conferred.
