Purdue Alumni Association sends seniors off with lunch

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — The Purdue Alumni Association's Senior Send-off will honor May graduates with a free lunch later this week.

The Senior Send-off will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday (April 13) on the south side of the Purdue Memorial Mall. All students receiving a bachelor's or master's degree at next month's graduation are invited to attend.

All those attending will receive a free lunch from Subway and information about the alumni association, as well as gifts from various other vendors.

"Senior Send-off gives the Purdue Alumni Association a chance to congratulate graduates on their accomplishments and on a job well done," said Dan Rhodes, assistant director of membership and marketing at the alumni association. "We will also be on hand to give students information on how to stay involved in the university by joining PAA."

Senior Send-off takes place twice a year, for both May and December graduates. Rhodes said about 1,700 to 2,000 people are expected to attend this week's event.
