Health and kinesiology student named AARP scholarWEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. Kyle Timmerman, a doctoral student in the Department of Health and Kinesiology from Ansonia, Ohio, was named one of the 30 AARP scholars for the 2005-06 academic year.The AARP scholars represent leading research professionals developing knowledge to address the challenges associated with America's aging population. Timmerman, whose research focuses on how exercise affects physiological systems in the elderly, will be able to use the $10,000 scholarship to cover the costs of tuition, academic fees, research expenses and travel to professional meetings. AARP is a nonprofit, nonpartisan membership organization that assists people 50 years and older.
