December 2, 2005 Purdue repertory dance company to perform winter concertWEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. The Purdue Repertory Dance Company will present its Winter Works 2005 Dance Concert on Dec. 8-10 in Stewart Center's Experimental Theatre. The dance company, which will perform nine works by faculty members and students, is at 8 p.m. Dec. 8, 9 and 10. There also will be a performance at 2 p.m. on Dec. 10. Some dance pieces focus on political satire, the conflict in Bosnia and Herzegovina, relationships and chaos. Works in the show are: "The Being of Feeling," choreographed by Sally Wallace, associate professor of visual and performing arts. Lafayette musician Jamie Newman composed the improvisational-style jazz music. "Temporary Residence," choreographed by Carol Cunningham, professor of visual and performing arts and chair of the dance division. "With Wil," choreographed by Mary Beth Van Dyke, a continuing lecturer in visual and performing arts. "Edge," choreographed by Holly Jaycox, a continuing lecturer in visual and performing arts. "Filibuster," choreographed by Christy Carr Jacobs, a senior in interior design from Lafayette. "Wide Eyed," choreographed by Shanna Daly, a student working on a doctorate in chemistry. She is from Florence, Ky. "Unspoken," choreographed by Lori Durako, a junior in sociology from Rockford, Ill. "Between Emotions," choreographed by Renee Murray, a senior in communication from Chicago. " 2Ty Ashue," choreographed by Scott Downs, a sophomore in interior design from Hillsboro, Ind. Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for students and $6 for children 12 and under. They can be purchased at the Stewart Center Box Office by calling (765) 494-3933 or through Ticketmaster at (765) 743-5151. The Purdue Repertory Dance Company is housed in the Patti and Rusty Rueff Department of Visual and Performing Arts. This is the company's final performance in the Experimental Theatre, because the Nancy T. Hansen Theatre in Yue-Kong Pao Hall opens in 2006.
