November 1, 2005 Purduettes team with Purdue Cancer Center for health forumWEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. Women's life-altering issues, such as cancer and domestic violence, will be the focus of a Women's Health Issues Forum at 2 p.m. Sunday (Nov. 6) in Hillenbrand Hall, sponsored by Purdue Muscial Organizations and the Purdue Cancer Center. Speakers include Pam Faerber, an ovarian cancer survivor on the board at the cancer center, and Virginia Nead, a volunteer from the Lafayette YWCA, who will talk about domestic violence. Information booths from agencies will include the Kathryn Weil Center for Education, Purdue Cancer Center, YWCA Greater Lafayette, Purdue School of Nursing, Students for Health (Body) Acceptance and Positive Esteem and Ovar'coming Together, a nonprofit ovarian cancer education and resource organization in Indianapolis. This is the third year the two groups have collaborated on the forum. The event is free and open to the public. Donations may be made at the event to the Purduette and Purdue Cancer Center Scholarship Fund. Checks should be made payable to Purdue University.
