September 21, 2005 Hospitality, tourism management offers career fair, industry executive seriesWEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. Purdue University's hospitality and tourism management department is sponsoring a career day, as well as kicking off this year's Darden Series: HTM Executive in the Classroom. HTM Career Day starts at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday (Sept. 27) in Purdue Memorial Union's South Ballroom. Approximately 50 companies will be interviewing students for internships and full-time employment. Kelly C. Baltes, Red Lobster's executive vice president, will speak at 10:30 a.m. in Loeb Playhouse, Stewart Center. The title of his talk is "Leadership Choices: Choosing Success." The talk is free and open to the public. Other scheduled Darden Series speakers, their companies and speech titles are: Doug Ridge, Chicago Marriott Downtown general manager, TBA. Mary M. Adlof, National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation president and chief operating officer, "The Foodservice Industry: The Cornerstone of Careers, Community and the Economy." Jim Sullivan, Sullivision Inc. CEO, "Fundamentals: 7 Ways to Be Brilliant at the Basics." All talks will be at 10:30 a.m. in Electrical Engineering 129 and are free and open to the public.
