July 26, 2005 President Jischke to talk on WBAA about university housingWEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. Purdue University President Martin C. Jischke will discuss the role that the on-campus residence hall system plays in campus life and how it relates to off-campus, Greek and co-op housing during WBAA's live call-in radio show on Wednesday, Aug. 3. From 2-3 p.m., Jischke will field questions from WBAA station manager Dan Skinner and the listening audience during the station's "AM920 Magazine." "The residence halls continue to evolve into an even more comfortable, convenient, safe and vibrant living environment," Skinner said. "They play a significant role in meeting the needs of a diverse student population presented with a range of attractive options." Jischke will discuss how changing student expectations have been met by providing more choices a responsiveness that results in Purdue housing on campus more students who choose to live there than any university in the nation. Purdue has created more dining options, is renovating older residence halls and is building its first new residence hall in nearly two decades. Skinner said past interview topics with the president included campus security, building maintenance and the Campaign for Purdue.
