June 29, 2005 Musical, culinary delights merge at Summer Concert SeriesWEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. The annual Summer Concert Series presented by the Purdue Memorial Union will blend tastes and sounds in a veritable feast for the senses. The four free Wednesday shows begin July 13 at 6:30 p.m. at Academy Park on the north side of the Purdue Memorial Union. Dinner, which will include food themed to the type of music being performed, will be available from 6-7 p.m. for $10 for adults and $6 for children 10 and under. The Ann McWilliams Band will bring its mix of pop bluegrass to open the concert series on July 13. The menu will include grilled citrus chicken and grilled garlic-thyme burgers. The other performance dates and performers are: July 20, Harvey & the Bluetones. The featured food will be pulled barbecued pork. July 27, Big Fun Reggae. Bone-in jerk chicken and guava-barbecued beef short ribs will be available. Aug. 3, Tony Zamora Jazz Ensemble. Mediterranean chicken salad and Asian noodle salad will highlight the menu. Purdue Employees Federal Credit Union is also sponsoring the event. Additional menu information can be found at www.union.purdue.edu.
