Faculty and staff honors

– Julie C. Novak, professor and head of the School of Nursing, has been awarded Author E. Hughes Career Achievement Award, the highest alumni honor of the University of San Diego. Novak, who also is associate dean of the College of Pharmacy, Nursing and Health Sciences, earned the first doctorate awarded by the university's Hahn School of Nursing and Health Science in 1989. Originated in 1995, the award recognizes outstanding graduates in the areas of career achievement. The award is named in honor of Author E. Hughes, who served 24 years as president of the University of San Diego.
