Purdue NotebookMay 13, 2005 Appointments and promotions Laura L. Sloop has been appointed to fill the new position of director of development for the College of Consumer and Family Sciences. Sloop previously was assistant director of development at Manchester College, Manchester, Ind. Angela Ping has been named director of development for annual giving. She was previously the regional marketing coordinator at Regions Bank in Lafayette and currently serves as an executive board member for the Hanna Community Center. Alumni honors The Purdue Department of Foods and Nutrition has selected six alumnae as the inaugural group of inductees into the department's new Hall of Fame, which recognizes Purdue alumni and their achievements in the field. The hall of fame also will recognize alumni and others who have contributed to the growth and prominence of the department. This year's inductees are: Sarah Johnson, director of dining services for Purdue University Residences; Diane Birt, a distinguished professor in the Department of Foods and Nutrition at Iowa State University; Mary Fuqua, professor emeritus of foods and nutrition and associate dean emeritus of the College of Consumer and Family Sciences at Purdue; Sue Palmore, owner and CEO of I Two, in Woodstock, Ill.; Karyl Rickard, professor of nutrition and dietetics at Indiana University Schools of Health and Rehabilitative Services and Medicine; and Linda Van Horn, a professor at the Northwestern University Medical School's Department of Preventative Medicine.
