Purdue expert can speak about aging transportation infrastructure

Kumares Sinha, the Olson Distinguished Professor of Civil Engineering at Purdue University, can speak about some of the issues in a report recently prepared by the American Society of Civil Engineers regarding the aging transportation infrastructure. The report gave an overall grade of D to a national infrastructure marked by crowded schools, traffic-choked roads and transit cutbacks. It included a state-by-state breakdown of roads, bridges, drinking water systems and other public works.

Sinha is an internationally recognized expert on various transportation and public works issues, including traffic congestion, road maintenance and traffic planning. He is co-chairman of the 91st Purdue Road School, which takes place March 29 to 31. The annual event will attract about 1,500 people, including transportation experts and public officials. The three-day meeting, the oldest conference of its kind in the nation, will address transportation funding, environmental and design issues.

Sinha can comment on issues related to roads, bridges, tunnels, public transit, railroads and airports.
