Written by Burt Shevelove and Larry Gelbart, with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum" traces comedy back to its roots, combining the time-tested 2,000-year-old humor of Roman playwright Plautus with the infectious energy of classic vaudeville.
