Purdue School of Pharmacy distinguished alumni and friends honored

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Purdue School of Pharmacy honored five distinguished alumni and friends today (Friday, Nov. 5) at an awards luncheon at University Inn.

Those receiving alumni awards were:

• Mary B. Baker, senior medical manager, global medical affairs, Hospira Inc., Lake Forest, Ill. Baker received a bachelor's degree in pharmacy from Purdue in 1979.

• Gary D. Dolch, executive vice president of quality and regulatory affairs, Cardinal Health Inc., Dublin, Ohio. Dolch received a doctorate in medicinal chemistry from Purdue in 1976.

• James P. Kehrer, professor and head of the Division of Pharmacology and Toxicology at the University of Texas, Austin College of Pharmacy. Kehrer received a bachelor's degree in pharmacy from Purdue in 1974.

• Terry L. Schwinghammer, professor of pharmaceutical sciences at the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy. Schwinghammer received bachelor's and doctoral degrees in pharmacy from Purdue in 1973 and 1977, respectively.

Sarah "Sally" Rushmore Byrn, president and CEO of SSCI Inc., West Lafayette, was honored with the 2004 Friends of Pharmacy Award.
