November 4, 2004 WBAA Town Forum features local health-care leadersWEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. The public will have a chance to directly question the heads of three major health-care providers in the Lafayette area on the next "WBAA Town Forum."The live broadcast will be from the auditorium of Ivy Tech's Lafayette campus on at 7 p.m, Nov. 10. Panelists will be Terry Wilson, president and CEO of Greater Lafayette Health Services (GLHS); Dr. Michael Skehan, president and CEO of Arnett Clinic; and Joe Sliwkowski, medical director at Unity Healthcare. Dan Skinner, general manager of WBAA Radio, Purdue's public radio station, will be the moderator. "This follows months of uncertainty about the Lafayette-area health-services industry," said Wayne Pratt of WBAA. "People will be able to address any of the seemingly endless number of concerns floating around this community about Arnett, GLHS and Unity." Arnett canceled a project this year to build a third Lafayette-area hospital. The plan to build another full-service medical facility was opposed by GLHS, which operates Lafayette's two existing hospitals St. Elizabeth Medical Center and Home Hospital. The public is invited to attend and participate in the discussion. Listeners also will be able to call in with questions. The broadcast can be heard on WBAA 101.3 FM and AM 920 or online.
