Appointments and promotions

– Gerald Thomas has been named director of development for special projects at the Dauch Alumni Center for the parents and faculty/staff/retiree campaigns.

– Linda Young has been appointed student services coordinator for Indianapolis Statewide Technology at the School of Aviation Technology. The program is housed at the Indianapolis International Airport.

– Laura Loy has accepted the position of director of development for WBAA Radio. Loy previously worked as the development and marketing director/event manager for the Tippecanoe Arts Federation. She is the current president of Professionals in Communications, serves as a board member for the Association of Advertising and Marketing Professionals, and is involved with the Association of Fundraising Professionals.

Campus activities

– The Crossroads Conference on Communicative Disorders will take place Oct. 25-26 in Stewart Center. Crossroads is designed to provide professionals and students with practical and functional knowledge on specific topics in the fields of speech-language pathology and audiology. The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association has approved the conference for continuing education unit and certification renewal unit credits. The conference registration fee is $175 for two days or $100 for one day. The student registration fee is $25. Faculty and staff honors

– Barry Schreier, psychologist and coordinator of training counseling and psychological services, was elected president of the Association of Counseling Center Training Agencies (ACCTA) for 2004-2006. ACCTA is a national organization of predoctoral psychology internships that represents 143 colleges and universities in the United States and Canada that provides advocacy and instruction in psychology training to its members.
