PMO offers preseason, student specials on Christmas Show tickets

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Public preseason tickets are on sale for the annual Purdue Christmas Show now through Oct. 15, when open ticket sales begin. A buy-one-get-one-free ticket sale for Purdue students also will take place Oct. 11-15.

Brian Breed, director of Purdue Musical Organizations, is excited about this year's student ticket promotion.

"This is a unique step for PMO," Breed said. "Our work revolves around students, so it's only fitting we invite their peers to be a part of our magic and wonder – the Christmas Show. By offering a special opportunity to purchase tickets, we hope that more students will be able to be with us this December."

The Purdue Musical Organizations ensembles will present their annual holiday performance entitled Purdue Christmas Show: "The Magic and Wonder of Christmas." The performance will include both old and new musical selections designed to appeal to all ages.

The 71st annual Purdue Christmas Show, conducted by Breed, will take the stage six times from Dec. 10-12 in the Elliott Hall of Music:

• Friday, Dec. 10, at 8 p.m.

• Saturday, Dec. 11, at noon, 4 p.m. and 8 p.m.

• Sunday, Dec. 12, at noon and 4 p.m.

Tickets are $24 for adults and $17 for students. An order form is available online. Tickets can be purchased at the Purdue box offices by calling (765) 494-3933 or by calling the PMO office toll-free at (800) 893-3041.

Breed said preseason tickets give purchasers better seating choices.

An audience of 36,000 people travel from all regions to see the show live on campus each December. More than 1 million people have seen the PMO Christmas Show in Elliott Hall since its debut in 1933.The show also is broadcast nationwide on public television stations.

This will be Breed's 16th consecutive year directing the show.
