Purdue senior elected to national Mortar Board Council

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Carrie Eichenberger, president of the Purdue University Barbara Cook Chapter of Mortar Board National College Senior Honor Society, was elected student representative at the Mortar Board National Conference, which took place July 23-25 in Columbus, Ohio.

Her term will last until July 2006, and her responsibilities include representing student viewpoints of the 213 Mortar Board chapters nationwide and acting as a liaison to various standing committees. She will assist the National Mortar Board in various projects throughout her term. The national committee has nine members, including two students.

Eichenberger, of Lanesville, Ind., is a senior in the School of Agriculture and has achieved high scholastic achievements during her time at Purdue. She is currently applying to Purdue's School of Veterinary Medicine and hopes to attend next year.
